The goal of this project was to create a poster promoting the Dawson College graphic design program vernissage. This exhibition is a night where graduating students display their finest work for hundreds to see.
For this poster, I played with the recent conversation that design and art may be overtaken by the rise of new technology. I wanted to use irony to promote the exhibition because it provokes a reaction and feels very relevant to the situation that we, as artists, face today. I used centered type to allude to the end credits of a movie, giving the poster a cinematic feel.
The poster takes on various forms to promote and brand the event, such as business cards and catalogues. “The End of Design.” is sure to turn heads when plastered around the city.
